The power of hypnotherapy
Access your subconscious for deep change
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool that allows you to tap into the subconscious mind, a place where your deepest thoughts, feelings and behaviours reside. Through a state of deep relaxation and focused attention, known as trance, we can access this inner reservoir and bring about meaningful and lasting change. Hypnotherapy can accelerate your healing process by addressing issues that may not be fully accessible through traditional talk therapy methods.

Who is it for?
Clients are often surprised by the range of issues hypnotherapy can address. You can use it for anything you where you want to change your thinking or emotions. Here’s a glimpse of what research and practice have demonstrated:

Weight and eating management
Hypnotherapy has proven effective in achieving and sustaining weight loss.

Anxiety and depression
Research shows that hypnotherapy can significantly reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Increase confidence and self-esteem
Hypnotherapy can help clients see themselves positively by changing thought patterns and healing past experiences.

Unwanted habits
Hypnotherapy can help resolve unwanted habits such as nail-biting, skin-picking, unhealthy eating, procrastination and negative self-talk..

Pain management
Hypnotherapy has been effective in reducing pain associated with chronic conditions like fibromyalgia and arthritis, and for after surgery or during dentistry.

Relaxation and stress reduction
Hypnosis is highly effective for reducing stress and promoting relaxation and mental calmness.

Easier childbirth
Techniques like hypnobirthing can make childbirth easier by reducing pain, increasing calm and creating a more positive birthing experience.

Smoking cessation
Hypnotherapy has been found to be more effective than nicotine replacement therapy. Studies show that hypnotherapy can double success in quitting.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
A 2018 review of 28 studies found that hypnotherapy can significantly alleviate symptoms of IBS, including abdominal pain and bloating.
This is called gut-directed hypnotherapy and is very effective. I combine it in a holistic approach with nutritionĀ for my IBS and IBD clients.

Overcoming fears and phobias
Hypnosis is effective for confronting and overcoming various fears and phobias. I was taught self-hypnosis in a therapy session in 1993 in order to overcome a debilitating phobia. Inspired by this life-changing experience, I trained to be a hypnotherapist in 1998. Since then I have used it for many things.

What happens in a session?
I offer hypnotherapy sessions for your specific needs. Whether your goal is to feel calmer, sleep better, stop a habit or overcome an emotional challenge, I’m here to support you.
My approach is client-centred and collaborative. We’ll work together to uncover patterns, identify challenges and map out solutions. Additionally, I provide guided meditations and hypnosis recordings so that you can continue your practice between sessions. I also teach self-hypnosis to my clients when possible.
I often combine hypnotherapy with other modalities such as mindfulness, NLP, EFT and other behavioural techniques to give you the best experience and most effective treatment.
In addition, I can incorporate nutritional guidance into our sessions. Nutrition plays a large part in how we feel, think and behave and by understanding the influence of food on your brain and body, we can make adjustments to enhance your therapy success.
Where to start
If you’re ready to take that first step, I’m here to help. Start with a Healing Roadmap assessment.
BOOK a Healing RoadmapClinic locations
I currently serve clients face-to-face in Sussex and Kent, including Hastings, St Leonards on Sea, Bexhill-on-Sea, Eastbourne, Brighton, Rye, Robertsbridge, Battle and surrounding area.
Face to face sessions are always best because the personal connection builds a deeper sense of privacy, trust and safety. This can be particularly important when addressing sensitive issues. In-person sessions also provide a more reliable setting with fewer technical disruptions.
Therapy online
Based in the UK, I also have some global clients. Some local people also like this option sometimes when it isn’t possible to meet in person. I may agree to work online after we have discussed this to assess whether it is a safe and effective way of working with your particular issues.
