The IBD Wellness Pathway

A natural Approach to Colitis & Crohn’s Recovery

Do any of these sound familiar?

  • You’ve got Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis and feel overwhelmed
  • Flares disrupt your life, and you want to understand what triggers them
  • You’ve tried restrictive diets or supplements but aren’t sure what really works
  • You’re on medication but looking for additional ways to support your gut healing
  • Stress and upset is making things worse, and you want to learn ways to be calm
  • You want a real plan to support healing, reduce flares and achieve remission
  • You’re losing weight or gaining weight and want to maintain a healthy weight
  • You want a holistic, therapist-supported, evidence-based approach that considers your health and wellbeing as a unique person

If any of this resonates, you’re not alone and you don’t have to navigate this on your own.

This is for you whether you’re newly diagnosed, have been managing IBD for years or have been told, “There’s nothing more you can do.” You don’t need to know any science or have everything figured out, just the willingness to take steps that support your body and mind.

Have you been told these myths about ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s?

IBD is purely genetic and there’s nothing you can do.
Truth: Genetics usually plays a small role, but gut health, lifestyle and mindset influence flares and remission more.

IBD is an autoimmune disease.
Truth: It’s actually a barrier disease, meaning intestinal wall health such as permeability and immune responses to gut contents are key drivers. Treating it like an autoimmune disease can sometimes make things worse.

Your mood, stress and mindset don’t affect IBD.
Truth: They do. Stress and emotional health directly influence gut inflammation, motility and healing. Ignoring this can make coping with, and recovering from, a flare harder and longer.

You just need to cut out certain foods
Truth: While some foods can aggravate, food is a vital support in staying in remission. Gut healing may require elimination at certain points, but really it’s about nourishment, repair and restoration of a healthy microbiome.

You can eat what you want because IBD is just random.
Truth: Understanding which foods support your microbiome and intestine wall and which disrupt it can mean the difference between remission and repeated flares.

Why I created The IBD Wellness Pathway

I’ve been a therapist for nearly three decades and my practice work in nutritional therapy, hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotional Freedom Techniques was about helping others. But then, when I became very ill with ulcerative colitis 27 years ago, it also became about healing myself. I knew I had to find out how to resolve my serious health challenge. Over the years, I’ve studied the science, tested approaches and applied everything I’ve learned — both from working with clients and from my own experience — to create The IBD Wellness Pathway.

While I would never say I’m cured, I’ve been remarkably stable compared to most people with this condition. I haven’t had a major flare in seven years and my gastroenterologist has told me I’m doing exceptionally well staying off medicines despite the challenges of IBD. He was interested to know what I was doing because, sadly, my experience is not common. This is why I started an IBD support group to help others. Now, I’ve created The IBD Wellness Pathway to give you the same knowledge, tools and strategies so you can manage IBD with more confidence and fewer setbacks.
